Buying a new Fusion... good choice?!?!

Hi Everyone,

So, it is a little past midnight, and I am kinda wired  I am heading over to the Ford dealership in the morning to sign the papers to buy my new Fusion!!! This is my first new car, and really only my second car (I have had my bug for 8 years, since high school!!), so I am kinda nervous about my purchase. I think I made a good choice though... I checked out the Camry, Accord and Altima. The Camry and the Fusion made the short list (the Altima was really awkwardly designed and the Accord was the most uncomfortable car I ever sat in [total dealbreaker!]). I did like the Camry alot, but the steering seemed a bit loose, and quite frankly, their latest recall freaked me out a bit. I really loved alot of the Fusion's feature and really couldn't find anything I disliked about the Fusion, so I decided to go with it.

The only thing I was a little worried about was that it got four stars instead of five stars in the rear side impact test, while the Camry got five... is this a silly concern? I am assuming four stars is still pretty good, and if the handling (for me) is better than the Camry, I would probably be more apt to avoid accidents overall, right?

I am just curious if anyone else out there has a Fusion and can tell me how you like it? I guess I am just looking to be reassured, but if I should run, let me know, because I have less than 9 hours until it's final!!

Thanks for reading my ramble!!

Too late now, but is it the 2010 model? They redesigned it a good amount. For the better.

If you really like the car better, one star isn't really a dealbreaker IMO. Handling helps too, but in different ways. You might avoid a smaller crash better, but a big crash often comes out of no where in which your extra handling wouldn't have helped any. Stability control is really more important than handling.

It is the 2010 Model... it is a really nice redesign! I signed the papers this morning and am EXTREMELY happy with my purchase. This is my first new car, so I think the idea of making such a large purchase freaked me out, but I definitely think I made the right desicion! I just looked up stability control in the flipbook, and that comes standard. It has a ton of safety features (most of which I am totally clueless about), but it does seem really safe overall.
