Britax Parkway SG or Britax Frontier?

I was planning on purchasing the Britax Frontier for my 9 year old daughter as she is "technically" outrgrowing her Regent by total height(not actual shoulder height)...we were going to use it as a High back booster only as she'd be too big for the harness I'm guesssing if she's outgrowing the Regent. Anyway, then I saw the Britax Parkway SG, and I'm wondering if that might work instead. Our van(98 GMC Savana) has no head rests at all, so we do for sure need a high back booster for her.

So anybody have any clue if the Frontier would really last that much longer than the Parkway? At some point(maybe a couple years down the road), we would hopefully be able to get a newer van that has headrests...but it might take a while to save up, so I need something to last a while.

The price difference is the biggest reason I was hoping the Parkway might work just as well for her. Looks lik I can get a Parkway for around $100 on sale, whereas the Frontier is $223 cheapest I've seen...

THANKS so much!!

Hi Sarah,

Normally I would see absolutely no reason to recommend the Frontier to you, but given that you don't have head rests, I would recommend going with the BIGGEST high back booster and that is by far the Frontier. Too bad it's so spendy :( It offers several inches more torso growth than anything else, and will comfortably fit many smaller women.

I agree... the frontier is THE tallest booster on the market... it's well worth it, assuming the price isn't hurting your budget... because you definitely want the head support.

I'm no expert, but I see that the parkway sg and the frontier have the same maximum shoulder height listed on Britax's website.. is the frontier bigger really though?

someone has pictures... but I believe it is a tiny bit bigger... it also has more room in terms of width and depth... which means a kid will be more comfortable long-term in that seat for leg support and width.

I also quite frankly wouldn't have to use the sg clip on an older child who isn't at risk of submarining out of the belt.

(you CAN order one and use it on the frontier, but it's not required like it is on the Parkway)
