Toyota 4-Runner (2002)

We are trying to determine whether our 2002 4-Runner has the complete LATCH system - the car manual is very unclear. There are two u-shapped devices on the upper-back of the side back seats and one u-shapped device on the lower back of the center seat. Do you know if the 2002 4-Runner has the LATCH system compatible with infant car seats that have the LATCH system? Thanks

According to the NHTSA guide, NO LATCH

The 2002 NHTSA Buying a Safer Car guide indicates that your vehicle does not have lower anchors.

The U-shaped devices are probably standard top tether anchors. These can and should be used for front facing carseats to improve their performance in a crash.
