Question Convertible that actually fits a newborn?

And is about $200? Asking for a friend. I love my Graco Milestone but got in when ds was 3 years (he's 5 now). I don't think it would fit a newborn well. Anyone use it for a newborn? Or what other seats are out there to fit a newborn and prices around $200? I think the MyRide65 would be a...

Head height and head rests with backless boosters

I thought of a new question about backless boosters. In our truck the Turbobooster puts dd's ears slightly above the head rest. The headrests in the Silverado crew cab do not go up very high and they don't lock in place. This is not an issue in my Odyssey, head rests go up plenty and stay put...

    Incognito vs. Harmony?

What do you like about either one better than the other. For an older child 8+. I've seen the Harmony in person and thought the low and wide belt guide/arm rests were odd, but I am so used to Turboboosters.

    Nearing outgrowing booster.

So this weekend my 9 yr old passed the Five Step Test in the 3rd row of my "07 Odyssey. She was very excited. Her brother and sister both passed it in the 3rd row a year before they passed it in the cpt's chair. She's 4'6.5" and 86#. She asked me to check her in dh's crew cab Silverado...

Is a mat okay to keep car seat from slipping on leather seats?

A friend wants to know. Says she's turned her almost 2 yr old (or maybe just turned 2) FF because she could get a tighter fit, it wasnt' tight enough RF on her leather seats.

So would you FF your 3.5 yr old?

32# and I forget his height at the moment. My only reason is that he's RF'd a year longer than both my girls, they hit that RD wt limit of 33# at 2.5 yrs. DS2 is in a Milestone with a RF limit of 40#. Right now I am thinking I will turn him when he turns 4 or I have to raise the...

Great article on why under 13 in the back seat.

I finally found the information I have been looking for! I have been wondering WHY children should not sit up front until age 13, besides getting them more adult size so the seat belt fits correctly. I've been telling my 11 yr old that she can sit up front when she is 12 yrs AND 5' tall. I...

I like this quote for RF

Rear-facing is scientifically proven to be safer, and it’s a relatively simple precaution to take. The bottom line: Turning the car seat is not a rite of passage to be celebrated. Moving your kid to forward-facing is something you should do because you “have” to, not because you “get” to.

Talked to a CPS Tech today.

He was telling me it would be fine to FF my 3.5 yr old, 32# son. That the "safe best practices" says RF for 2 yrs. I told him that the AAP says to RF for a minimum of 2 yrs but 4 yrs is better. DS is doing fine RF I am just getting the itch to FF him because my longest RFer was 2.5 yrs. I have...

To keep RF past age 3?

I know he's safer, it just begins to get annoying. He'll be 3 in January and will be RF at least until then. He's 37" and barely 30# in a Graco Milestone. His sisters were both 2 1/2 yrs when turned FF but their seats limit was 33#. I read something about neck bones being stronger at age 3.

Help! Ideas for when child does NOT want to get buckled.

DS2 will be 3 in January. I'd say 80% of the time he gets in his seat just fine. 10% with a little bit of trouble and 10% with a huge fight. I wonder if putting him FF would cure the problem but I really want to keep him RF at least until January when he turns 3. (he's 29#, 37") I thought it...

Yes, this is dumb, but remind me, that I do have to throw out the seat.

My Radian is 8 years old. Bought a Milestone two weeks ago and finally put it in Friday. Taking out the Radian I was reminded how heavy that seat is! Wishing I had just used it for another 4 months then bought a combo seat and turned ds ff when he turned 3. I am a person that uses things until...

    Finally installed the Graco Milestone...

not used to not being able to see ds. I was so used to the narrow open Radian that I could peek back at ds in. I didn't like that with the head wings and more upright seat I can't see him at all. And he has less leg room than in the Radian. He's not bothered by that though. It installed...

    News Bought the Graco Milestone!

Bought it today at Target, it was on sale for $206. Saved me driving 45 minutes to Buy Buy Baby to try the Britax Blvd CT to probably buy the Milestone anyway. Got a rock solid fit FF with the seat belt in my 2007 Odyssey! Had to work a little bit to get a tight fit RF with LATCH, but got...

Question What vehicles are people installing Radians in with seatbelts?

I have never gotten a tight enough fit with a seat belt with my Radian, RF or FF in several positions. The reason I am not replacing my expiring Radian with another Radian.

Narrowed it down to Graco Milestone or Britax Blvd CT

Any others I am missing that will RF and also FF with harness height up to 18"?

Question Comparing Graco seats with and without safety surround.

It looks like the safety surround's head wings just come out further. Is the EPS foam thicker? Trying to see why to pay an extra $50 for that feature.

Question What brick and mortar stores sell the Blvd Click Tight?

I can't find one that does.

    I am so confused!

I thought that I had narrowed my choice down to a Britax Pioneer or a Graco Nautilus. But I met a friend at BRU today to try seats and she reminded me that RF is better. (which I do know) I also couldn't get a tight enough fit with the Nautilus or Pioneer with the seatbelt. I got a good fit...
