Need recs for large 4 year old.

My DS is outgrowing his Marathon. He is almost sitting on the crotch buckle. His main seat is a Frontier. He uses the Marathon in my car for preschool drop-off. I'd like to go with something less expensive than another Frontier. Any recs? Thanks! PS - He is the size of a 5 - 6yo in both...

Can you use lock-offs with ALR? +

Pretty sure I just doubled up. Carseat manual says lockoff isn't required if you have and activate automatic locking restraints. After reading my car manual I do and I activated them...so I'm doubled up. Ok or should I unlock the lockoff?

Can I get your opinions on this installation? +

The LATCH is tight and secure but the seat wiggles. I think it's because one side sits on the middle seat and the other side sits on the side seat. The manufacturer installed LATCH a little off center which causes each side of the carseat to sit on separate seats. I tried to capture...

    LATCH usage for 40lb 3yo. +

My Marathon manual says to refer to my car manual regarding the LATCH pound limit and to assume 48lbs if the car manual does not disclose the limit. Well, my car manual (Acura RDX) does not disclose the limit. Is it safe to go to 48lbs? I was under the impression it was 40lbs so I'm surprised...

    Harnessed booster vs Marathon

DS is 3yo and 40lbs. I am considering getting him a Britax Frontier. I have a few questions I hope y'all can help with: 1 - Is a harnessed booster just as safe as a carseat? 2 - Can you recommend any other harnessed boosters besides the Frontier? Thank you!

DD needs a smaller RF carseat. Need recs. +

DD is currently in a True Fit Premier. It's time for the headrest extension and now my knees are in the glovebox. DS is FF in a Marathon and I thought about trying to switch seats but the Marathon's shell looks similar in height to the extended TFP. So I need a new seat for DD. Any recs? I...

    Rec for combo harness/booster seats?

Other than the Nautilus or Frontier?? I see those 2 are generally rec here. Also, is there anything I should know about one or the other? I like the price of the Nautilus but have a Marathon now and am brand loyal. I can get a Frontier for $200 so just $50ish more than a Nautilus.

What happens after your child outgrows the carseat?

I'm trying to figure out all my options. I need to get a 2nd seat soon. Here are my options: 1 - Get one that FF to 40lbs for $50. What would I have to get next? 2 - Get one that FF to 60lbs+ for $100 - $150. Would I have to buy anything else or could he go straight into the seat? 3 - Get...

Hello everyone! I have a 2.5 year old boy who weighs in the 32lb - 35lb range. He is FF. I need a second carseat for my car. I will be dropping him off at preschool twice a week. He rides in a Marathon in our SUV otherwise. I'm looking for something inexpensive but will last a while. Most...
