    Hyundai & Britax Frontier

Hi! I just got a Frontier for my 4yr 40lb DD. Can I use the LATCH anchors for installation? The manual does not specify a weight limit

Question Earliest age to use Britax Marathon

Hi all, What is the average age at which an infant will fit well in a Britax Marathon RF? (We are planning to use the infant seat for a little while, but would prefer to switch to the convertible as soon as possible.) Thanks!

Convinced friend to ERF, but seat install is bad

First, the good news... after talking several times to my friend and her DH, I convinced them to switch their DD back to RF. (She's 17 months, and about 25 lbs). They have a Marathon seat for her. The bad part -- they have the seat incorrectly installed (the seatbelt is through the FF belt...

    Wide Backless Booster

My friend has an 8yr old DS who may be close to 100 lbs, by my eye-ball estimate. He is currently riding with just the seatbelt. I saw how the seatbelt fits, and I'm sure he still needs a booster. I told my friend this, and she said that he was in a booster before, but it was "too narrow", and...

Insurance will pay, what to buy?

I posted yesterday that our car was rear-ended at a red-light. Well, I talked to the insurance company, and all they said was go get a new car seat, send us the receipt, and we will give you a check for that amount. They did not say I had to buy the same carseat. Also, they did not ask me to...

Was in an accident, now what?

After having a horrible night with my sick dd, I was taking her to the doctor this morning, and a car rear-ended us at a stop light. We are both fine, but the car has a decent size dent on the bumper. She is 12 months, 23lbs, and was riding RF in a Britax Marathon. Questions: 1. I'd like to...

    FF vs RF on Airplanes

Food for thought... http://www.faa.gov/library/reports/medical/oamtechreports/1990s/media/AM94-19.pdf This study shows that children are safer rear-facing on aircraft. It found that (aft) rear-facing car-seats performed best of all the restraints tested. In the conclusions, the authors...

Letter to FAA -- Help me out, please

Hi all, Since this "Rear-Facing on Airplanes" thing is "clear-as-mud," I thought I would write a letter to the FAA asking for clarification. Here's what I have so far. Please read it, and give me your comments/suggestions. I want to make it as easy to undestand as possible. Also, who should I...

    US Airways "Policy"

Has anyone seen this on USAirways website: # A safety seat may face backwards if the infant weighs less than 20 lbs. For infants weighing between 20 and 40 pounds, the safety seat must face forward. # Children over the age of two may occupy an approved forward-facing safety seat provided the...

Is there such a thing as "too tight" on an install?

Ok. So I know you want to have a tight install, but is it possible to go too far? I.e. can you damage the car seat components (e.g. plastics) if your install is too tight?
