    80lbs of carseats

I took 80 lbs of carseats to the dump this weekend. :p There was your vehicle is weighed before and after, so I know that I tossed 80 lbs of carseats. I don't like to risk leaving them ont he curb, so i take them directly there. In case you are curious, I tossed the Frontier 85 and the...

    Frontier 85 in a 2011 Sienna?

Anybody had any luck installing a Frontier 85 in 2011 Sienna captain's chair? I tried installing the one that was wrecked to make sure it installs well before I order a new one (B's been riding in the Nauti from DH's car). It just did not work well. I had to recline the seat back really far...

    Awesome customer service from Mazda

I had emailed Mazda last weekend thanking them for making such a good vehicle in the Tribute. I explained that it had protected us through 3 wrecks, including this most recent one. I mentioned a bit about the severity of it and how amazing it is that we all walked away. Yesterday, I got an...

    Email for Britax?

Does anybody have one? I can't find one on the website. I'd rather email them, than call them. I want to give them our Frontier 85 success story.

    Sienna vs. Grand Caravan

Pros and/or cons? We're replacing our wrecked Tribute and really want something with a 3rd row. We want to get a lightly used one (1-2 years old <30K miles) but would be willing to consider new. I'm willing to look at other vehicles, but starting here, since these two seems the most readily...

This is why we care so much about carseats

Ok, new scariest moment of my life. My second major wreck was on Monday evening. I was on a 6 lane major road going 55 mph (speed limit) and t-boned a truck that blew through a stop sign and crossed the road. And she was going FAST. I barely saw her and didn't have a chance to brake at all...

    It happened to me...

It happened to me...--UPDATE I pulled the RF Radian XTSL to move up the harness straps, and the lower anchor strap failed. I checked the install in our 05 Mazda Tribute, and it was rock solid. I always check it (daily) after hearing about the problems with the lower anchor...

    Squeaky Radian?

Anybody else dealt with this? My Radian XTSL squeaks in the car like when going over bumps, hitting potholes, etc. I think it is the joint where the seat folds up. I've double checked and everything about the set-up and installation is exactly as it should be. It's not a HUGE issue, just a...

    I'm right...right?

Ok, so a friend sideswiped a large concrete support pole in a parking garage yesterday. It dented in the sliding door on her van and scraped it up pretty badly. She has two Britax seats in there. She needs a new one on the dented side, correct? She seemed pretty pissed at me at the...

    Cold Seat

This is a new one to me: http://www.babyhalfoff.com/ It looks like you freeze it and leave it on the seat when it is unoccupied and then remove it so your seat is cold when you get back oin the car. As humid as it is where I live, I think you'd probably come back to a wet seat, though.

    Post count staying the same

I've been noticing that my post count doesn't change when I post. Is there a setting to change this?

    Question about CPST Training

My class is at the end of this month. Do I need to do any prep work beforehand? I quite well-versed in CP safety, I think, for a non-tech (been reading here for 5 years, though I don't post a whole lot). They sent a flyer with the different types of carseats (no biggie), and a link to the...

Anybody else with this Frontier 85 issue?

So, the Bman loves this seat. For 3 days every time we opened the car door, he yelled, "AWESOME!!!" It was pretty easy to install once I was able to get the seat belt buckle through the short belt path (the opening is very narrow--this was difficult and I have small hands--DH will never be...

    Got our Frontier 85!!!

Got our Frontier 85!!!--pics and measurements added Yay!!! It's a Red Rock cover. I took it out of the box to mess around with it some, but haven't really gotten to play with it. It seems super cushy. I'm curious to see if the Bman will actually be able to reach the cupholders when he's...

Motivate me to order this seat!

So I've had the Frontier 85 in my shopping cart for a day and a half now and just can't bring myself to click "submit order." Logically, this seat makes sense, but those Transport Canada and FMVSS tests made me lose a lot a faith in Britax for FF. I know they passed, but I keep thinking about...

    Nautilus vs. Frontier 85

I'm ready to buy now. 50 lb 5yo, not sure on height, but he stays in the 75th%. Price is not a factor. I know the Nauti installs well, haven't tried a Frontier, but had no problems with the Regent, so I bet that would work as well. Which would you get and why? Or if you would avoid one, why?

    RF Radian XTSL

Ok, I have a number of questions about setting up the Radian XTSL. I found some of the language in the manual confusing. I haven't even tried it in the car yet, but I'm trying to get it all ready to go. I plan to take it to tech before the little guy rides in it. Question 1-- Bottom of the...

Can the Radian touch the front seat when RF?

I'm thinking I can get an awesome deal on the Radian XTSL ($206.55!), so instead of buying older son's Nauti first, I'm going to move forward on the Radian for baby boy. Before I bite the bullet, can anyone tell me if I can touch/brace the seat when RF on the front seat. I just want to be sure...

    Cushy Graco Nautilus?

I'm finally getting around to replacing the Regent that was wrecked in October (no haven't been using it, just moving the Nautilus back and forth as necessary). I'm replacing it with another Nautilus. Anyone know if there is a model that is "cushier" than others? I know some of Graco's...

    Replacement seat advice

We were in a wreck about a month ago and I'm trying decide on the replacement seats (they've been in back-up seats, not the wrecked seats). I'm pretty sure I'm going to put my almost 8-month-old in the Radian XT SL (replacing a Keyfit 30). It's my nearly 5 year old that I'm not so sure about...
