Have mercy... can you just decide on a booster for me?

Here we go again. You'd think almost 8 years into parenthood and I would get over the car seat indecision. DS - 55-ish lb., almost 8yrs Vehicle - Toyota Tacoma ('03) Usage - maybe once a week, 20 miles or an occasional 150mile trip. He rides mostly in a Britax PWSGL in mine. The PWSGL is ok...

Where to buy 2013 Britax Parkway SGL?

I've always bought car seats off Amazon but they don't carry it rght now? Diapers.com is down too. Any suggestions?

    List of latchable boosters?

The title says it all pretty much.

What is the Britax Parkway that is to be released today?

Is that the 2013 version on their website?

    Vehicle LATCH limits- CONFUSION!!!

So for booster mode- vehicle LATCH limits don't apply, right? Since they're only used to hold the unoccupied booster in place in the event of an accident? Also, in the Britax Frontier manual, it mentions anchoring the top tether on booster mode. Is that required or optional. If required, any...

5 pt harness or HBB for a 7year old? Does it matter?

DS is 7 yrs old, 54-ish lb and 4'4" tall. He's currently in a Frontier. Is it time to switch to a HBB? If so, recommendations for a narrow HBB? Is the Clek OOBR narrow? Frontier will likely be passed down to DD (currently in a Radian but will expire in the next couple of years). Or should I...

    EZ-On products

Can you tell me about these, particularly the vest and 86Y harness? Are they an alternative to boosters? If so, how are they different from the ride safer travel vest? Are they easy to install/put on?

What age did you put your 6yr old in a HBB?

DS is 6 (going into 1st grade) and is in a Britax Frontier 85. He's ok with remaining in a 5pt harness but I was wondering if I am doing him a disservice as far as training him to sit in a booster by keeping him in the 5pt harness still? Do I need to convert the Frontier into a HBB now?

    Canadians and Alaskans...

What kind of tires do you have on during the winter? I live in AK and have always used studded tires but then I just heard about this all-season tire that has extra sipes in it. Is that a safer option? Our road conditions here during the winter are not ideal. Our roads don't get salted so there...

Question Britax PWSGL - Couple of questions

The PWSGL just arrived and we've attached the back to the seat. Couple of questions though (1) We did hear the click when DH attached the back but the back still has a bit of wiggle room front to back. Is that normal? Or is the back supposed to be rigidly connected to the seat? (2) The Britax...

Why are there weight restrictions on boosters?

Aren't boosters just basically belt positioners? Didn't they even use telephone directories back in the old days to boost up children (might be an urban legend?)? Please educate me.

Help me find a narrow HBB

The current configuration in my Subaru Impreza is Frontier85-outboard (driver's side) Radian80 (RF) - center I am taking in a 3rd child for carpooling purposes. He usually rides in a backless evenflo booster (in his parents' vehicle). He is 5y.o., 49-ishlb. The evenflo booster is a very tight...

Would a RideSafer Travel Vest be just as safe?

Friend asked me if I could pick up her kid from school and provided me with an Evenflo Booster (backless) that her child has been riding on. It's kind of a tight fit as I have my RF Radian and Frontier in the back as well. I have a RSTV and wonder if this could be a just as safe option in place...

    Flagging on craigslist- how to

I normally don't hang around craigslist looking for car seats (to buy or flag) but today I was looking at the babies+kids section and lo and behold, I see the car seat that I freecycled a year ago. I honestly do not have an issue with it being sold when I gave it away for free, my issue is that...

Why doesn't the Frontier come with locking clips?

Is it because you are supposed to use the LBP for nonlocking seatbelts? If so, should we disregard the instruction on the manual that says to use a locking clip for a nonlocking seatbelt?

Choosing a booster. Please help me sort through marketing hype vs legit safety features

I'm choosing a booster for DS (age 5), 40lb, 47in. It's going to be in a vehicle that we'd use once/twice per week, albeit relatively longer drives (we kind of live in the backwoods so it's at least a 10mi drive to go to town). I guess I'm down to 3 choices, Britax PWSGL, SKMonterey and Clek...

Question Need advice on 5yr old: booster or not?

DS is 5 y.o., 47inches and about 40lb (on a good day). Currently he is riding in a Frontier on my car and DH's truck. He will be starting school in the fall and we will be carpooling with a friend. I will be taking him to school and friend will be bringing him home. The drive is about 20miles...

Frontier 85 or Safety1st Go Hybrid?

We already have a Frontier for one car and we're actually very happy with it but I just recently saw the Safety1st Go Hybrid. Is it the same as the Safeguard? Anyway, anyone have experience with the Go Hybrid? Should I be considering any other brand? TIA!

Britax Frontier 85 - a bit of the car seat is not resting on the vehicle seat

Is it ok for a bit of the car seat to not rest on the vehicle seat. I guess essentially, the vehicle seat is shorter (front to back) than the Frontier. So some of the positioning block is not resting on the vehicle seat. Is this ok?
