Is there a HBB with taller shoulder guides than the Frontier90?

It's been a few years since I have thought about car seats. My 7yo 52" daughter is outgrowing her Frontier90 as a HBB. She still sleeps in the car on long trips (we do a long commute at night regularly.) Is there a taller HBB Option? What other options are available?

Narrowest high back booster for adults to sit next to?

My parents moved to town and I am trying to set up my Jetta Sportwagon to fit 4 adults and 1 in a high back booster. They have health issues and don't drive much- so we pile in together. DD is 5, 47" and 46 pounds. What high back booster is the best to wedge next to? We have a Frontier90 in...

    Compass Boosters?

I'm starting to research boosters for a trip this summer with my 40lb 44" will be 4.5 yo. The compass B540 and B570 get really good reviews- I like the fold up feature for travel. They get good safety ratings. I rarely see them recommended though- so I'm curious what people think of them. I...

    Experiences with click tight?

I got a frontier today and I have to say I'm not loving the click tight feature. I find it hard to do, I'm worried it's putting a lot of pressure on my seatbelt and it just seems like one more thing to break on a seat that is supposed to last, what 9 years. I'm debating sending it back. I...

Flying to grandma's house- what to do about a seat?

I am taking my 40lb 44" tall 4 year old to my moms. I'm trying to decide what to about seats. (She is the size of many of the 6yos at her school.) We have a radian and a secure kid but she outgrew her RA50 and we passed it on. Both of those seats seem huge to travel with. When we get there...

Best harnessed booster for a tall 4yo to sleep in?

Hi, my 4yo DD is has the straps of her RA50 at her shoulders. I need a new seat for her ideally for a center install in a Dodge 2500. She is 42" 38 lbs. We ski a lot so I want the safest, best for sleeping on long rides seat that will last her the longest. I have a securekid in my car...

Question on Securekid LX as a booster

I just picked up one of these to use harnessed with my 3yo DD. I was reading the manual and had a question about booster mode. Can I leave it attached by latch all of the time? I was not clear if it was saying I had to latch it empty but not full. That seems a little impractical. So, can I...

Combo seat for 3yo that fits in many cars -Securekid 300?

Hi, I'm looking for a combo seat to replace my radian which I just hate the harness adjust on FFing. DD is 40" 36 pounds (15.5"ground to shoulder.) I drive a 4Runner and have her in the middle. I know she could be RFing- but she is much happier FFing and at her size I was okay with it. I...

Tips on measuring RFing height in a blvd 70?

DD (26mo) is getting really close to the top of her blvd 70 and I think she's closing in on 1" (she's 36" tall with a long torso and ~30 pounds.) I'm having trouble gauging where she is relative to the top of the shell since the headrest is above the shell. Should I push it back down to get a...

Zip tie through 4th strap holes and headrest on Radian XTSL?

I need to move DD's straps to the 4th highest hole on her Radian XTSL. There is a large plastic zip tie in them that appears to be holding the head rest in place. I can't find mention of it in the manual (but I may have missed it.) Do I cut it off to move the straps into those holes? Please...

FF car seat on a plane - DD got her feet smooshed when person in front reclined how to protect next time.

We took DD on a plane when she was ~20mo FF in her BLVD70. Her legs are still pretty short, but when the passenger in front reclined he totally smooshed her feet that were stuck between the car seat and his seat. She cried out (had been sleeping.) (The jerk didn't even acknowledge her...

Skirts and dresses in car seats- what do you do?

Just curious how you deal with skirts and dresses in car seats. Is there a trick rather than just bunching them up? If you're doing a fancy dress do you just put it on when you get somewhere? Thanks

Way to keep grandparents from undoing car seat everytime they undo their seat?

Just curious if any one had tips on keeping a belt installed seat buckled in when people with bad vision are undoing buckles in close proximity. Would putting a tube sock over it help? We can't do latch with the center install and would rather not install outboard due to front seat too . Thanks!

RFing front to back room Blvd70 vs. Scenera/OnSide Air vs. Tribute V vs. ???

Hi, We're going on a trip with family and the car (a small Lexus 4dr, not sure the model) is going to be packed with 3 adults and 2 kids. One baby is going to be in a SR35 currently installed in the center. DD is going to be the other kid. We are flying in. I am willing to buy a seat just...

    Good travel/ spare convertible?

Hi, I am thinking about getting another seat for DD who is 18mo, 24 pounds and 33.5" tall. She has a Radian XTSL in my car and DH shares a Boulevard 70 between his car and truck. We fly a few times a year or more and have a trip coming up. I was thinking of an Avenue or something similar that...

Burning RFing vs FF videos on DVDs + other info to provide pedi?

At my 1 year check up my pedi asked if I was turning my baby around and I said no we're keeping her rear facing. She said great she had heard that was safer but needed to read up on it. She said she was most concerned that the baby was good and strapped in. Since I have to go back in 10 days...

Favorite ways to entertain a baby in a carseat on a plane.

We are taking my just 1 year old on a plane and got her a seat for the first time. We will take her KF30 on the plane for her. So, what are your favorite ways to keep them entertained. (She has flown as a lap baby in the past - I know, bad, hence the seat this time.)

Does a Keyfit 30 fit in economy on a plane?

My daughter is just under the 1" limit on her Keyfit 30, so we're thinking of taking it on one last trip (we took her as a lap baby previously she will just have turned 1.) Will it fit? It would be nice to be able to use the travel system. We also have a Radian XTSL and a Boulevard 70. She...
