Wierd: other websites go to c-s.org

My DW spends a lot of time on our local division of another national forum. Tonight, for a while, no matter how she tried to get to the other site, it came here. Now, this isn't necessarily a bad thing :), but . . . We are using a Mac running Snow Leopard. The switch to c-s.org happened in both...

    Expiration Date History

I've been asked when expiration dates started being used (what year). I don't know, but am betting that someone here does! If I remember correctly, they started being used when people were realizing that rear-facing seats in the front with passenger air bags was dangerous, but the person...

Convertible for older Subaru and Ford 150

My co-worker's sister is wanting to add a convertible seat to her shower registry (it sounds like they have a non-expired Graco infant only seat from a trusted source). They have a 1996 Subaru Impreza and a 2004 Ford 150 XLT. It sounds like the truck might be the primary vehicle and that they...

    Cosco Highrise Backless Booster

Some background first: DS attends a very small elementary school with most kids transported by parents. They had a field trip recently and volunteer parents/staff provided transportation. Families were asked to provide their child's car seat. Of course, I drove and brought a car full of...

Handout of high weight, tall, harnessed seats

I teach early childhood special education and we just got a new batch of kids who are all riding unsafely in their family vehicles because they have outgrown their 40#, low top slot, short shelled, harnessed seats and are now unbuckling their seat belts in their booster seats and moving around...

    Keyfit 30 Travel Systems

My brother and SIL are expecting their first and would like a Keyfit travel system. I'm seeing very limited choices online as I look to find them one (one get us gift givers a good deal:)). They seem to be very sold out. I think we are looking for a travel system with the Cortina stroller...

    Kia Rondo

We are thinking about getting an 09 Kia Rondo with low miles. We don't know much about Kia vehicles and are wondering what people here think of them. I know that there are no top tethers in the third row. DS's primary seat is a Nautilus, but he is 5 1/2 years old and probably about 40...

    Time to Car Shop . . .

We currently have a 98 Mazda Protege and a 00 Subaru Impreza. We are done putting money into the Impreza. This vehicle seems to always need an expensive repair. We took it in today and it needs another $1000 repair and will need tires this summer, so we are just done. Its okay to drive while...

    Symphony on Plane

Has anyone flown with an Evenflo Symphony? We have friends flying with their 2 y.o. later this week and are taking this seat. They will be flying from MSP to Nassau (?? -- They will have to do international customs). My guess is that they are flying Delta. Should they expect any install...

    Melted chocolate in Nautilus

So, DS has had lots of b-day parties recently. Saturday, he got a couple of little foil wrapped chocolates and dropped one. Told DW it fell on the floor. Its just now warm enough here to really start warming up the cars. They went to go to another party on Sunday and there was chocolate...

Gauging Interest: E-Z On Tether Anchors

Reading a recent thread about the higher weight tether anchors from E-Z-On, I realized that there is a possibility that I have 1 or 2 E-Z-On Tether Anchors in the basement from purchases of their products many, many years ago (around 10 years ago, maybe??) They were never used and I will likely...

Playdate in Odyssey - Nauti, Pkwy, Turbo or RSTV? (Long)

DS is 5y 3m, roughly 45#, 45", although I haven't measured or weighed him in a while. He's probably somewhere between 43 and 47, both for height and weight. DS's primary seat is a Nautilus. We just moved the harness up to the top slot as is just over the second from the top slot. We also have...

HWH for child in TLSO brace?

Someone on a couple of work-related groups I am on posted looking for suggestions for a child: Does anyone know of a car seat system out there that supports kids around 55lbs and has straps that would accommodate a Thoraco-Lumbo-Sacral-Orthosis (TSLO) brace to be used during transport. I know...

    Manitoba Laws

We have cousins in Winnipeg. They were telling me that their car seat laws only apply in the child's primary vehicle -- is this true?? My cousins are actually pretty good about using proper restraints for their kids (and dog), buy we were talking laws tonight. Tina

Infant Seat in 99 Protege and 01 Camry

My sister is expecting her first in a few months. They have a 99 Mazda Protege and an 01 Toyota Camry. They are considering both the Keyfit 30 and the Snugride 32. Any installation quirks that will make one seat better than another in these vehicles? Thanks! Tina

    Peeling labels

Almost all of the labels on our Nautilus are peeling off. The only ones that aren't are the ones on the bottom of the seat. At first, I thought it was just the Spanish side, but nope, the English is going as well. Anyone else run into this problem? I'm assuming I should call/email Graco. Tina
