So what's the deal with the SBP Regent thing?

Why is it suddenly better? Is it really safer to have an acceptable install SBP over a rock solid LBP? I don't get it. I haven't had the chance to reinstall it, I hope it's still tight. Anyone install it that way in an 03 Sienna?

    Parkway belt guide measurements?

Does anyone have these? My 9 yr old is outgrowing his HB Turbo (and his 7 yo brother isn't far behind ) and I was wondering how much growth room he would have in a PW. His torso height is 19.5 inches. He's right at the top adjustment now, so when he grows, we have to put it away. I'm...

What's the rule of thumb on replacing a booster?

My dh was in a crash with my 7 yo in the car. They were only going 20 mph, and everyone's okay. The car had a good amount of hood/grill damage, but had to be towed. DH said you couldn't take the key out or restart it. My son was in a backless Turbo, does this need to be replaced?

Is the Regent tether the same as the BV?

Because if it is, then we shouldn't tether it after 50 pounds like it says to?

    Oh, the horror!

I had a nightmare last night that someone stole my Regent! lol I took it out of the car so someone could try it, and I walked away and it was gone! Glad I woke up and realized I would never walk away without it. :p

What is your opinion on soft boosters?

Just curious...I noticed my niece had one. Not sure how I feel about it. I'm guessing she bought it because you just plop it on the seat (no installation). It has no belt guides and doesn't adjust. Just a piece of foam with a plush cover.

    Contemplating a Parkway...

How much would a Parkway be if I bought one through Dana? My 9 yo barely fits his highback Turbo maybe an inch to go on the belt guides... I'm not a fan of just using it as a backless. I know he likes using the highback. So I'm thinking, if I buy one, after the 9 yo fits the seatbelt, the now 7...

    Anyone see the VW commercial?

The passengers/driver are all talking about a movie they just saw, and CRASH! Side impact. Scares the bejeezus out of me every time. I told my husband, "Don't you dare ask me if her belts are too tight EVER again!"

    Misuse rate question

Of the seats that are checked, how many of them that are installed improperly are using LATCH? Is it mostly seatbelt installations? I'm just curious because I used LATCH for the first time today, my previous cars didn't have it. It was pretty easy, so I wondered if it does really help with errors?

    Regent and recline bar--LATCH

Okay, so my son unbuckled my daughter's Regent even though I flipped the buckle. (He wanted to get a lego.) I figured it was a good time to route the belt under the cover, and then I thought since it was such a pain to get the seatbelt in with one person, why not use LATCH? LOL I've never used...

    Backless Turbo ??

I have 2 highback Turbos, and 2 backless Turbos as backup. My 4 yo uses the highback as a second seat, and my boys 6 and 8, use a highback and a backless in the second car. (Normally, they are both in the highback.) Anyway, I was thinking that when they are too tall for the highback, we could...

    Do you do this?

I find myself contemplating what seats I would get if ever had any more kids. :p (Think, OOPS!) lol Hmmm...SS1, then scenera, then Regent? Or SS1 then a Marathon? The choices are mind boggling...and we don't want any more! What a dork, right? And I drive down the road saying, "That kid's too...

    Regent crash ratings?

I've never seen any. Anyone have a link? It seems like Consumer Reports only tests the most commonly used seats, and the NHTSA has an ease of use rating, but I can't find crash test ratings. Anyone have a link? :o

    Thanks

Thought I'd post a pic of my girlie in her seat. :) Think she likes it? :p I did it really quickly before she woke up. She loves her 'new' seat, and wanted to say thanks for everyone's help in my dilemma a while back.

A question about the crash test videos

I've noticed on most of them that the car seats/boosters installed seem like they are loose. I was wondering if they are using the non-ALR seatbelts, or if it is normal for a TIGHT car seat to do that upon impact? My daughter's seat is tethered and so tight that you can't budge it. I can't...
