    Gate Checking a carseat on an airplane

    So I posted a question on a FB page of a car seat manufacturer about gate checking a convertible car seat. Someone commented back that once a car seat is gate checked it is considered crashed. Is this true? I know you wouldn't be able to verify how the seat is treated by the baggage handlers...
