Has anyone read this terrifying article about Evenflo Big Kid?

The article is about how Evenflo continued to claim their highback booster was safe for kids under 40 lbs and provided side-impact protection. This makes me want to 5-point-harness my kids until, well, forever. Maybe everyone, including adults, should all be 5-point-harnessed when on the road...

Question Cardiff booster seat headrest and NBB vs HBB safety.

two questions. has anyone ever used the cardiff booster seat headrest? i read what little info was found via google including the CSO blog entry and am hoping that some forum members have experience with it because i can't seem to find any reviews. http://cardiffproducts.com/ i'm guessing the...

    Question evenflo amp

is there a reason why evenflo amp (hbb mode) isn't recommended more often? it seems to have the narrowest external width and sounds great for 3-across installation in a small car, but i rarely see it recommended. thanks in advance.

to celebrate teacher appreciation week, many education bloggers and teachers are offering their worksheets, lesson plans or other fun stuff for free through may 8th. items typically retail for a few bucks. also, a coupon code (TAD12) can be used for a discount on non-free items. great way to get...

Question how does britax multi-tech puzzle next to max-way? or maybe hi-way?

the title says all. i need to shave a few inches. has anyone tried installing a MT next to the new maxway? or would a HW work better next to a MT? i don't know if anyone even owns both seats, but you never know. i realize the carseat in the middle has to have its footprop on the hump of the...

while using a carseat with a puffy down jacket or thick coats is dangerous, are hoodies okay? they seem like thick sweatshirt. thanks in advance.

    puzzling safety question

is it safe to puzzle the carseats in such a way that one seat's shoulder area sneaks below the other one to get another inch or two of space? (i'm trying to do a 3-across.) the two seats would be independently secured, but if there is a crash, i wonder if the potential bouncy motion of one seat...

difference between radian 80SL and XTSL? and maybe 65SL.

so what's the difference between the two 45lb RF seats?? does one have a taller shell than the other? what about the width? it seems that all radians are 17" wide. i am attempting to install this in a honda fit (honda jazz) which has mixed results, so i am looking for a shorter shell height...

3 RF seats in a honda jazz / honda fit

yes, that's three-across in a subcompact, all rear-facing in the back. i hear the combi coccoro can accomplish this, but this is not an option since one of the children is at CCO's RF limit, possibly over with clothes. i realize that this may not be spacially possible, but people from this forum...

why no rear tether on infant carrier seats??

i hate how much the base of most infant carriers move like murphy beds when installed. is there a reason why a rear tether isn't used for infant carrier?? given that britax convertible seats allow RF tethering, i don't understand why rear-facing infant carriers be tethered too. (i suspect lax...

how long do you plan on ERFing your child??

i ask because i'm debating if i should import a swedish britax or get a new britax like a marathon 70. my petite child is 3.5 years old and can still RF but is near the weight limit. if i get a multi tech it'd be fine until oh age 9 or 10... so maybe i can get away with a cheaper US car seat...

    Graco Snugride moves a LOT!!

for my first baby, i immediately used the britax roundabout which did not budge. with #2, i decided to take advantage of the convenient infant carrier seat, but i am STUNNED by how loose it is!! the back of the base (the part against the back of the front seat) moves up and down, as if it's...
