who would YOU put in third row seats? Biggest kid or baby?

I have a third kid on the way, and I know I'll be experimenting. Our main family car (2005 Freestyle) has 2 bucket seats in the middle "row" and a 2-person bench seat in the back row. Currently, my oldest is a very large 5 1/2 year old (over 50lbs, about 50" tall) in a backless booster behind...

Chicco KeyFit 30 or Eddie Bauer SureFit - which would you get?

I'm due with baby #3 in the summer, and given a history of big babies who grow fast, I'm hoping I can get an infant carrier car seat that will last well past the 28" limit of older seats. (My older two kids both outgrew that kind of seat around 6 months.) We're also on a very limited budget - my...

Good infant seat for tall babies?

So, I'm pregnant with kid #3 and due early summer, and since our old Graco infant seat is long gone (expired and traded it in during a TRU sale probably 2+ years ago), I'm in the market for a new infant seat. I really like bucket infant seats for the convenience. But I was just looking at my...

Do your toddlers/preschoolers climb into their carseat? Advice please.

Background: DD is almost 2, a tad over 30lbs, and RFs in our primary car, a Ford Freestyle (crossover/SUV). Her carseat (Graco MyRide) is currently in the passenger-side captain's chair. I'm pregnant with our second child, who is due when DD will be 27 months old. I assume we'll use our Graco...

rear facing - how do you get your toddler INTO the seat?

I'm probably going to be shunned once I admit this, but... I turned my daughter FF at about 15 months. It was just getting too hard to get her into the seat RF. Even when she wasn't throwing a fit, I'd often end up bumping her head (or mine) on the door. And we have a big vehicle! Now that...

    RF install with seatbelt

I'm curious - I've tried a couple of different seats (infant and convertible) rear-facing. It's easier to get them really tight with a seatbelt than with LATCH... but the way the seatbelt shoulder strap pulls up makes the RF seat lean towards the center of the car. This can't be right! Any idea...
