Have any of you heard of/used a product called the "Piddle Pad" by Kidpotamus?
It's and extra pad that you can add to a car seat to keep your kid from peeing all over the car seat cover. Do you think this would be safe ( I know you are not suppossed to add any extra padding....but for goodness sake ...I keep having to wash my DD's car seat cover every other day!!!) .....and believe me, I have tried NUMEROUS brands of different diapers. She's just a 'heavy wetter.'
Does anyone know about this product?
Thanks,
MW

Have you tried cloth diapers? I know it seems like a stretch but my DS soaks even the largest sized disposable but with a nicely layered hemp diaper he hasnt had a leak. You could get a good pocket diaper just for long car-rides. How old is she?

She just turned a year old and the funny thing is - she's really tiny - (18lbs)
I haven't tried cloth diapers. I've always been curious about them, but w/ 4 kids, I feel like all I do is laundry, so I haven't wanted to add to the already huge pile! Then again, with all of the leaks, what have I got to lose, right!
Thanks!

Absolutely try cloth, that's what we use. If you'd like to look into cloth, feel free to email me.
They're a bit bulky, but Lucky All in Ones do GREAT for super heavy wetters. http://www.preciousdignity.com -the WAHM is Deanna and she makes the BEST diapers.
I use her Lucky AIOs at night (Joyjoy is a light wetter, unusually so) but her best friend is a fire hose. lol He can wear a Lucky for 3-4 hours with no leaks.

no problem! if you want some awesome moms to talk to about what diapers are best go to http://www.mothering.com/discussions/forumdisplay.php?f=221
you will have to register to post. The average pocket diaper costs as much as a pack of disposables, but you only get like 30 in a pack and you get WAY more than 30 changes from 1 cloth diaper.

Personally I use harleyz hemp pocketz stuffed with hemp wipes and wool soakers as the cover. But there are a LOT of options.

Thanks for the info! I'm ready to try anything!
(Her car seat cover is totally faded and is starting to 'tear out' from washing it so much!) - Good thing we're moving her to a convertible soon! LOL
