Question about my RN80

I have a March 07 RN80. Does it RF to 30 or 35 lbs?

Also, can I buy a base for it on the website? My 48" 5 year old is even with the top slots. I know he hasn't outgrown it *yet* but I am thinking he will in just a few more months. I am wondering if I can buy a base and use it for my baby.

TIA!

Thanks.

Do the newer RNs have any extra room for heighth growth? I am not exactly ready to put him in a booster.

Nope, all the Radians have the same shell, so same growing room.

If you aren't ready to booster him, I would recommend the Graco Nautilus or the Britax Frontier 85. Both have tall harness slots and turn into pretty good boosters, when the time is ready.

You should be able to buy another base.

It rear faces to 33 pounds.

Mine was made in 8/07, I emailed the company last year and was told by Susan(?) that they increased the weight limit to 35lbs on all Radian 80s. After spending time here I've learned that SKJP isn't always that reliable, so now I'm worried. My DS is 33.5lbs fully clothed and I really wanted him to make it to 4 RFing. When did the weight increase go into effect?

I got told, "Fall of '07." So a lady's 11/07 RN80 was 35, but my 3/07 RN65 was 33. But "fall" was the best she could give me.

Also, are you in the US or Canada?

Here is the link to the base from the US SKJP website. :) http://www.skjp.com/en-US/product/267823/10605/_/Radian_Base

And here is the link to the base from the Canadian SKJP website. http://www.skjp.com/en-CA/product/267823/10605/_/Radian_Base™

They did redesign the base though, so it may change how the seat installs compared to your old base.

US! Thanks for the links!

I have a GN for him in my parents' car, it seems like he's got a bit of growing room in it still.

I finally heard back from skip. They said the weight has been increased to 35lbs even on radians made in march 07. I wonder if they raised the weight limit to 35 lbs on all older radians to avoid any confusion.
