New Car Suggestions???

We are looking to get a new vehicle in the next few months, and are considering a Civic. How is the backseat? Will a BV fit well RF'ing and still have room for the passenger in the front seat?
Does anyone have any other suggestions? I am considering a Ford Escape Hybrid, Ford Explorer, Nissan Altima, Nissan Murano, and possibly a Civic or Accord.

DH has an 03 Altima. It's pushing 100k miles and we've been very happy with it. Ours has the 4 cyl motor and it's still very peppy. We get between 25-30 mpg. I'm not sure if the backseat was changed when the redesigned. Ours is very roomy. We frequently have a Roundabout, Marathon and adult back there. A Marathon can fit RF behind the driver with the driver's seat all the way back.

In my opinion, Honda also makes very reliable vehicles. We've been looking at the Pilot and Civic. The Civic is so much smaller than the Altima....but the gas mileage is better.

My mom had a '97 Altima and it was a great car! That was awhile back so I didn't have to put any car seats in it (lol) but I do remember it had a nice big backseat!
We owned an 04 Escape before, but only had to install one seat in it, so that was never a problem..

You might want to take a look at a Mazda. They have many new options out there. We have had 4 different models in the past and never had a problem installing a car seat. They have great options for the price.

We just traded in our SUV for a Civic. DD is RF in a Decathlon behind the passenger's seat.
Hubby is 6' and he has plenty of room. With the passenger seat upright we can slide it all the way back. With it reclined just a bit we are on the second or third to last "click" on the track.

I was just on here asking a bunch of Civic questions.
Here's a pic of my seat installed

And a pic of how much legroom is available up front

I hope that helps.
We test drove a bunch of cars and decided on the Civic. You cannot beat the mileage:thumbsup:

Consider a Toyota Corolla. Check out it's MPG. Not as sporty as a Civic, but it's a great commuter/family car.

If you do go w/ the Civic... GMIL has one. I couldn't get my 2 seats RF next to each other when I took it on a trip (BV and Radian). And when I put them outboard... I could barely sit in the middle. I mean it was painful--I had car seat parts digging into me :)

But otherwise, LOVE it!

That's pretty much the case with most cars when you've got two seats in one row. Especially compact ones like the Civic.

We had an older civic. A larger type stinky lady from church called us often for rides. She had to sit in back. Shortly after our second child was born she quit calling us for rides. It was kind of funny to see her stuff herself between two car seats...

However, if you can manage to get one in the middle, it isn't too bad to sit on the side.
