High back boosters with deep head rest?

We've been through lots of seats, and all of our high back boosters expire this month. I had asked about low back ones a while ago, but I think DS still needs the wings. He is 8, weighs 64 pounds, and pretty average to tall. He still has height room on his Vivo, but he looks like he's falling out of it. The seat is not deep enough. he also has some head/neck instability, so I think the ability for him to rest his head is important.

In my searching it looks like the Monterey might be the best option. I would love the seat to be able to be used as a nbb later on (I'm guessing he won't want to be in a hbb more than a year or two from now). It looks like it will fit a bigger kid well, and looks comfy. Am I missing any other options, especially cheaper options? It looks like the recaros can't be used without the back, and our experience with turbos is that the wings don't hold up his head when he sleeps. The Vivo's wings are awesome...are the Monterey's similar?

It will sit in a captains chair of a 2006 Sienna.

TIA for help!

Does the Monterey have decent padding? It seems like almost all of the boosters are a hard plastic shell with lightly padded cover. We have Fp boosters (expiring) that had great cushy foam under the cover. No local stores carry the monterey.

Looking at the parkway now, because of the headrest issue. Our sienna is no problem, but we also use it in our saturn sedan. Our current issue there is when DS rides in a NBB then the shoulder strap comes down too far (across his arm). So having a booster that does not need a headrest is ideal for the middle seat.

Does the parkway work for bigger kids?

Yes. I love the monterey! It has good padding, It is a great seat and adjusts side wings and headrest so it really does fit every child I put in it.

I love this seat.

The new maxi Cosi rodifix that is coming out soon looks like it's going to have nice deep head wings. I think it's supposed to be out 1st week of October but it might be earlier.

Yes, the Parkway is one of the taller boosters and has a deeper seat than the vivo or oobr and does not require head rest support, the reasons we bought one for our tall DD. I wish the sides were a bit deeper, but ours is last year's model and I think they've improved that and added safecell to it.

Do you know how tall the guide will go? I'm always on the search for boosters that will work in our primary car.

Thanks for all the input. The parkway came yesterday.

DS insisted on running an errand yesterday so he could try it. He LOVES it. It fits him great and I'm really surprised how high the back goes. Very cushy and the headwings are not super deep but I think they will be just fine for him when he falls asleep.
