First off, I LOVE this site! Thank you for all you guys do!

My DD outgrew her infant seat and I've just moved her to my DS's old BLVD (its the 33lb limit one). How does the angle look?

My car is a 2010 Chevy Traverse. As you can see in the pic, she likes to lean her head forward and gets the dreaded "head slump" when she sleeps. I don't remember having this problem with my son, but I had a different car. I have it reclined all of the way back, but its like the car's seat is angled back. How deos it look to you?
Here is another pic:

I have to say the "head slump" really bothers my DH and he thinks that that seat isn't good enough, but I am wondering if she is just getting used to it and it will be better or if we should buy a new seat.

DD is 5 months, 22lbs and 28"
Thanks!

If your dd was 10 months I would say that the angle was fine, but based on your description and the angle I'm seeing - and knowing how upright seats like to install in your vehicle, I'm going to tell you that you need to get a pool noodle or a rolled towel and use it to increase the angle a little bit.

Seeing how you currently have the seat installed so tightly I don't think you'll be able to get it installed much more reclined just through varying where you put pressure when you tighten the seat.

That's a picture of my MA in my Saturn Outlook - same interior as the Traverse. My son did ok in it at that angle when he was 10 months old, but I had to use the rf'ing tether to get it that reclined. Britax doesn't allow you to use the top tether to adjust the recline anymore and your seat is installed more upright than what mine was - and the BLVD headwings can push the head forward a bit more which can make a kiddo a bit more sensitive to angle, so I'm not surprised that it needs to be a bit more reclined for your dd.

Does your manual have a diagram of how to use a rolled towel or pool noodle? You won't need more than 1 noodle or just a medium sized towel to get that little bit of extra recline, and that should fix everything for you.

I don't think it has it in the manual. Tried to look at it online but it won't come up. DO I just wedge it in the crease and install as usual?

Here you go, page 17 of the online manual. :)

Yep, that's basically all you do. Either use a pool noodle, or a very tightly rolled towel.
