Tried that, wouldn't let me. One is on amazon.ca for $95 plus $18 for shipping but I know that it can't legally be brought here.

Can't you buy it on amazon.com and have it shipped to a USA address? I do that all the time. Will it not let you because it's a car seat? I have had stuff shipped to mail boxes, hotels and friends places.

Can't think of a reason you can't ship it to Hagen's of Blaine, they have a real street address. If you remove it from the box/package and put it in with your groceries, even if they did find it at the border, they're not going to know what it's for. AND, if they do, worse case you have to take it back, make sure you ask the Hagen's people to save your box for a few hours, as they dump that bin hourly sometimes and it's gone after that!
