WWYD - Radian RXT

For those who have had this seat how long have your kiddos fit rf? Do you think the headwings got in the way of them fitting longer? We bought these seats expecting to erf. When I first heard about erf my goal was 2, that was easy so we went for 3 and now we are working towards 4 (they are 3 1/2). Problem is the girls have been so difficult to get buckled in lately getting their torso into to the seat. Those stupid headwings that I thought I loved are just in the way... :-( . I do have one that keeps falling but even when I get it to stay up there isn't that much room to the shoulder and when they're trying to get in the seat it's just in the way. Am I being crazy? One dd is 30 lbs and 38". Other dd is probably 28 lbs and 39-40". I do not know their seated height or torso height.

My plan was to move them ff at 4 and buy either gn's or frontier's for our main vehicle, move my radians to grandma's vehicle ff, and turn dh's radians ff. I just don't see how I'm going to make that work with those headwings! Am I doing something wrong to get them higher?

What do you guys think?

My DS just turned 4 and is about 43" tall and still fits RF in the XTSL which has headwings. I do occasionally have to push them up but not by much and they don't otherwise pose a problem when he's getting in the seat.

My DD rode FF in it some and they were fine that way too although I don't plan to use the seat FF for my DS b/c I don't like tightening the harness.

My almost-five-and-a-half-year-old nephew still fits in the Radian XT RF; the wings haven't been in the way at all (he doesn't normally ride in it RF, but he has when I didn't want to uninstall the seat.).

Sam is 3y11m, 38lb, 41in and long torsoed. He is right at 1.5in from the top, but still fits quite easily under the headwings. Are they adjusted high enough?

I just switched him FF recently because I didn't want to weigh/measure him each trip. Oddly, he still has a bit of space in the RXT in his father's car?

They weren't high enough. They both seem to want to catch at the same spot (must have been the material). I played with them some more and was finally able to get them all the way up and WOW so much more room. Much better! I think part of the problem is I have back problems and I don't bend well and it's awkward to push it up for me. Thanks everyone!

See if this works. The lower pic is where I was stuck. Once I got it to move up look at the room! Ignore the chest clip....we weren't ready to drive off yet.

RF we had no issues.

FF the wings slipped, and it was awkward to push them up. I hear you on back pain! So my child at 3.5 got a new seat. He was 43 inches maybe? Didn't feel like he fit in it with the slippage!
