Would you let her sit up front?

S is now over 13! How she got so old I have no idea. But anyways, I am wondering how people would feel about her riding in the front. Her parents started letting her on her birthday but she (and they!) totally get the "my car my rules" thing with me and are leaving the decision up to me.

Personally if it was someone other than S I would be saying "yeah, of course!" I think I am just having a hard time since she's still a baby to me!

S is now at least 5'8" (she had at least 2" on me in December) and 135ish (in Dec) pounds.

Would you be comfortable with her riding up front?

As a childcare provider I don't think I would. The back is always safer. Are there any advantages to S. sitting in the front with you? Is there any harm in her sitting in the back?

For me it always comes down to this: a parent's job is to help a child grow up and a child care provider's job is to return a live, unharmed child to the parents so they can finish their job.

I'd let her, but I'd edit your post and take some details out. I would have been horrified if someone talked about personal stuff on a public board, and I wouldn't want my kid's provider doing it.

Thanks for everyone's input. She got right into the back anyways so it wasn't even an issue.

Removed the personal information. Just wanted it there for a bit as I know that is always part of the discussion when it comes to airbags and such. Both her and her family are aware of what I post about them and are comfortable with it, but I do appreciate your concern. I definitely wouldn't have posted it without them knowing. They're more family than people I work with so we have open communication.
