Maybe... It would really just depend on how the car seats were handled and treated there. In most stores, not unless it was zip-tied or chained to the shelf.

I might. I think I'd have to consider the store, the location, how it was shelved, etc. etc. etc. and go over the seat with a fine toothed comb, and then make a judgment call.

I agree with the difference between BRU and TRU. I'd be more likely to feel ok about one from TRU locally, just based on my experiences in my local BRU and my local TRU.

In the grand scheme of things, we really have no absolute guarantee that a factory or warehouse employee or UPS driver didn't damage ANY seat we get from ANYWHERE. There has to be a point at which we take on faith the idea that the car seat we're using has not been badly enough mishandled to cause it to be unsafe, and that the car seats themselves are designed with enough integrity to handle a little minor mishap here and there.
