Which of these options is better?

Today is one of the vary vary rare days kids have to go in DH's car. DD is 3 years 3 months and 35lbs. 2010 Honda Civic coup.

Choices:

RF Radian. Install is just acceptable. Movement at belt path is acceptable, but not in rock solid like I'd prefer. The recline is full 45 degrees. It won't get any better than what it is right now.

FF Marathon or FF Radian with tight rock-the-car install.

I realize that many kids DD's age have been FF for a long time and it's safe. But which is safER for today's scenario.

I'm not sure but I'm going to guess that a properly installed (even if its not as tight as is preferred) rear facing seat is still safer than a forward facing one. I know more upright angles are safer but since 45 degrees is still within the limits I think that's safer than ff.

Ultimately, the rear facing installation is safer, as long as there is less than an inch of movement and the angle doesn't exceed 45 degrees.
