Whats the difference between EPS and EPP foam?

New member
Good post... I'd like to find some nitty gritty details, too.
I don't know which is better, per se, but I found this pretty basic description:

"EPP is an acronym for Expanded Polypropylene. EPP has found many uses in the model airplane world and is a light weight and much more durable material compared to rigid foams such as white beaded EPS."

I'm pretty certain Britax uses EPS foam.

this is my understanding:

EPS is like the kind in bicycle helmets or foam coolers. It's generally thinner and more brittle.

EPP is almost rubbery and can actually withstand multiple impacts.

I don't know that one is better than the other.

edit: or just read that thread ^^ ;)
