Dd will be a new 6 yr old and going on a field trip with parent drivers. The trip is 2 exits away on the highway. She normally rides in a harnessed seat but is an excellent booster rider. Would you send a hbb which has more room for user error or a lbb?
She is 45 inches and about 45 pounds. Is there any evidence that a hbb would be better in a crash that I could show Dh?
I was planning on running to walmart to pick up a cheap hbb but he isn't sure thy he needs it. Thanks!
Eta- I have a Monterey in the garage from Dd1. Would you use an expensive seat for field trips and carpooling or get a cheaper seat? Dh doesn't understand my worry about people mishandling the seats :)

I would send the Monterey in backless mode, with the latch anchors stored.

My 6.5 yo uses a backless booster during carpooling, going with friends, etc, and I'm fine with it. She, like your dd, is an excellent booster rider. :)

:yeahthatlove:

At 6.5 a backless is great for carpool with good booster riders.
