Very tall 14 month old - UK

Hello, my son is almost 15 months old and is very tall for his age, off the charts. He weighs 28 lbs. he is currently using a maxi Cosi Tobi and has only two more harness height settings before it will not go any taller and there is no way he will fit in a stage one seat until the age of 3.5. I am very concerned that he will be too tall for the seat before he is heavy enough to move to a high back booster. I am also not wanting to use a normal seat belt due to reduced levels of safety and the possibilyu of him undoing the seat belt, but the only seats available with a higher 5 point harness weight limit are rear facing only sold at a few retailers. I don't like anywhere near any of them and needing 3 seats (one for my car, one for dads car, one for nans car) this is not practical.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

At 14 months old your child should sit rear facing, if possible, for at least another 2-3 years. A rear facing seat is 500%, or five times safer. Rear facing is especially important in the early years since head of a child is large and skeleton soft and poorly developed.

There are a number of rear facing seats which are compact and have a tall seat shell. Many of them have a 25 kg rear facing limit and can accommodate "normal" kids rear facing to around age 4-6 years.

Since your child is big and strong we can likely exclude Isofix installed seats since the maximum rear facing limit is 18 kg.

The RF seats vary a bit in size etc. so it would be helpful to know what cars you are using?
