Top tether on the Diono Radian RXT driving me CA-RA-ZAY

Anybody else have this problem?

I drive a '09 Chevy Impala.
Anytime I install the RXT FF, and tether it of course, it takes me over 20 minutes (I AM NOT EXAGGERATING) to unhook the top tether.
There is this little metal "bend" at the end of the shorter metal tab on the top tether, and it makes it so that you cannot get the tether off of the top tether anchor attachment point itself without some major "exactly perfect angling" to get it unhooked.

It makes me want to SCREAM.

My Britax seats do not have this little metal "bend" on this same tab on the top tether and only take seconds to get unhooked.

Yesterday I went to a carwash where you drive up, get out, turn over your keys and meet your car in 20 minutes when it's done. The employee that vacuums out your car and I held up the "drop off" line foreverrrr trying to unhook the darn thing. The manager literally came over to see what the problem was.

Retarted is a poor choice of works. Yes it is frustrating. My britax seats do it too in my car. What I found is if I over loosened ot and actually pull it up so the end pointing towards the back window it slides right off.

Yes, I always try to do it quickly without loosening it enough so I can get the right angle and it takes forever. I've had DH, who isn't known for his mechanical patience, leave the thing attached and have all the slack in it leading to the seat in the trunk part of the van

And please spread the word... Retarded is now seen as an offensive descriptor, so let's let it go by way of the dinosaur, ok :)

I don't find mine an issue with my FFing tether hooks (well, in my old car I didn't...haven't tried it yet in my current vehicle) but it drives me crazy getting it unhooked if I RF tether to the D-ring.
