Top nautilus hbb guide

My mom has nautilus in her vehicle that ds1 is about to outgrow the harness. He just turned 6 earlier this month and is 47.5" tall. I've been waiting for the cambria to come out to purchase for him to use in her vehicle.

I'm debating converting the nautilus to booster mode for now. Not sure if I really want to convert and the switch it back in the fall for ds2 or not.

Manufacture date on it is sometime in 2011. Does anyone know what the top height for the belt guide is in hbb mode? The data in the forum has a range of 19-21.5 inches....so I am seeking clarification. Thanks!

I can try to measure later, but I do really like the nautilus as a booster. DD and DS have started with it and preferred it until outgrowing it a year or 2 later. In some cars its size makes it hard to buckle, but it worked well for us.

You should get about 1.5in more growing room from the harness. The measurement difference is probably because its a big belt guide. The nautilus makes a great fitting booster for kids who are close to outgrowing the harness and isnt all too difficult to switch back and forth.

I would switch it to a booster if you want to buy some time waiting on diono. I, too, really like it in booster mode. However, I did not like it as a booster where I couldn't use latch. It seemed so heavy to be unrestrained. Thats a mater of personal opinion, though, as it is safe to use without latch. It is easy to reassemble, so I wouldn't worry about that aspect. I take mine apart regularly to clean and its pretty simple.

DD outgrew her Marathons at age 4 based on torso height. She made it to 7 1/2 years in the Nautilus and has used it the last 2 years in booster mode. She has *almost* outgrown it in high back booster mode. She finds it much more comfortable than any backless boosters we have tried, high back Turboboosters, and her Frontier.

I will switch it to booster mode if he outgrows it before the cambria finally comes out. I would consider buying a parkway, but really don't like the cover choices. Ds1's favorite color is orange so that new orange and grey cambria should work nicely.....if it is ever actually released!
