Question To use base or not

My daughter has the carseat carrier base in her car. It is very hard to get in & out because the brackets for the clamps are further back in the seat.
I wonder if it is safe to install the carseat carrier Without the base if baby rides with me? Obviously, i would strap her in with the lapbelt

As long as it is properly installed every time, according to instructions and with less than one inch of movement when you shake it at the point where the belt goes through, it's safe. Doing it each time increases the risk of error especially if rushed or stressed, and it can be difficult in some cars. If this happens you may find it easier to simply buy a cheap convertible that fits newborns well (like the Cosco Scenera NEXT, Evenflo Sonus, Graco Contender, etc) to leave installed in your car.
