Time for a new set up/ RF rebound control

Ok so ds2 (13m 23lbs 28in) is right at the one inch mark on his chaperone (with cloth diaper) and needs to move into one of our convertibles. Currently DD is also RF at 3.5 32lbs 38in. We currently have a MA70, RA 50 Classic, CCO, MR and Onside Air. They ride in both our cars almost an equal amount of time and both fit in all seats RF besides the CCO. So I guess my question is with only 3 seats with RF rebound control options witch one would you put in the non rf tt seat, the heaver older child or the lighter younger one or whatever is there and not worry about it? I am aware that I may be over thinking this!

Good question! I would naturally put the lighter, younger child in the rf tethered seat, I suppose. I'm not sure what the correct answer is though. What was your gut feeling?

I was thinking the older child just because of more weight/force going back and forth because of all the higher weight RFing seats like the Multi Tech having the anti rebound but I am not sure that is why I asked.

I don't flip out about rebound control -- in fact I have a RF RN with an older child braced behind me and it's not tethered. Just as background on my viewpoint/opinion, not as a recommendation.

I would have the younger/lighter child untethered. With less weight in the seat, it is going to rotate back less in the first place -- which is going to give it less energy with which to to rebound forward. Additionally, the smaller child is more likely to stay contained in the shell of the seat, and has less height that is likely to stick "out" of the seat and impact the rear seatback.

Does that make sense?
