thoughts on booster seats: chicco or britax or Uppa Baby

I am trying to decide between the Chicco KidFit Zip Air booster or the Britax Highpoint for my 7 year old son who weighs 60 lbs. I drive a toyota sienna, 2017. Any advice on either booster? Does the Chicco still require you to seatbelt it in while driving without a kid even if you use LATCH? Thanks!

I haven’t tried the Britax boosters in that generation Sienna but if the head restraints lean forward at all like the previous generation, the Britax boosters may not work. They don’t allow the vehicle head restraint to push on the headwings at all.

Yes, Chicco still officially recommends buckling the seat belt over the empty booster in high back mode even when LAs are used. This is something I know many families choose to ignore. The KidFit is still a nice booster though. I just wish it went a little higher as a high back.

I recently tried the UppaBaby Alta. I really liked it but we had major issues with the shoulder belt slipping out of the shoulder guide during normal use and then you have to manually slide it back in. We had to return it.

The KidFit is so short my kids wouldn't get hardly any use at all out of the back. The Highpoint OTOH still fit my third when she was 10 in the 93rd height percentile with a long torso, with room to grow- it's VERY tall.
