Question Tether anchors in 2013 Ford Escape

We are in a rental vehicle...a 2013 Ford Escape. I cannot find the lower tether anchor for a rear-facing convertible seat. According to our car seat, they should be on the lower back floorboard but we cannot locate them.

Hi. What seat do you have? Most convertible seats do not allow tethering. Only three brands allow it. Of those, only one allows you to use the vehicle tether anchor. All three brands allow you to use a D-ring ring that came with the seat to create a tether point.

The kicker is that most vehicle manufacturers have explicitly prohibited using the D-ring to create a tether point.

With one exception, rear face tethering is not mandatory, so if you can't find an appropriate location to tether, it's probably not a big deal. The exception is Canadian Britax seats made after a certain date.
