Sling and seats?

New member
My daughter will be having some major shoulder surgery at the end of the month. For the first week at least her arm will be in a sling and swathe. For the following 7 weeks her arm will be in a regular sling. What will be the safest way for her to ride in the car? She is booster trained for rides around town. She's 5 and 47lbs, not sure on height she's taller than all the kids in her class. I'm not sure how to work the seatbelt with the sling and swathe. Her left arm will be in the sling.

Could she switch sides in the car so her right arm is going under the belt? Otherwise I imagine a bit of finagling with pulling the belt most of the way out, sliding it under the sling and then getting it buckled. But I'm not sure about the first week.
