Searching for Center Seat Rear Facing Convertible for 2008 Toyota

I have a 2008 Toyota Corolla and a very tall husband that needs the seats pushed back as far as possible. Our infant is growing out of her infant carrier and we do intend to have 1 or 2 more kiddos in the near future so 3 kids under 6 (and 3 car seats) is realistically in my future. I need a rear-facing convertible seat that will fit rear facing in the center seat that can fit between the two front seats so that it doesn't affect how far back the seats are pushed. Does that exist? Does anyone know if the Diono Radian fits like that?

The other option, I need a convertible seat that can sit more upright in the rear facing position so that seats can still be pushed back far enough that would ALSO be able to sit right next to an infant carrier that would be in the center seat. Does anyone know if the Britax Marathon/Boulevard can fit side by side with another seat?

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

The Radian tends to work well in Toyotas, especially with the angle adjuster.

The Cosco Scenera Next, though, is nearly as narrow and is more compact front to back.

We couldn't manage to get our Radians upright enough in our 2006 Corolla (9th generation Corolla like an '08) to leave us with much leg room in any of the seating positions, even with the angle adjuster. I am 5'11" and drove around much closer to the airbag than I would have liked for about 5 years, until my oldest went forward-facing. My husband is only 6'1" and he hardly went into the car during those years, but he is a big guy and found it uncomfortable even before we had kids.

That said, our seats were made between 2008 and 2010 and the newer Radians may work better. I have also seen other brands of carseats suggested around here for being particularly upright when rear-facing. Good luck!
