Safety Ratings

Partly it depends on what my choices are.

If there's more than one vehicle at acceptable price that basically has the features I want, then I want better ratings. One low rating outweighs several higher ratings. For example, a car with one 3-star rating and the remainder being half 4 and half 5 stars is worse IMO than a vehicle with all 4 stars.

If there is only one vehicle at the right price with the right basic features, it would take a pretty poor rating to make me say that the vehicle I want doesn't exist and I need to revisit my search parameters.

I don't really have any cutoffs. I'll accept some IIHS As, maybe one M. On IFL, I want a car that is overall at least average risk.

Same here. Informedforlife.org is the least of my worries though. I check the main sites IFL pulls from anyways so there's little reason for me to look on that site. Saves me from having to "interpret" their results since I'm doing it anyways.
