RF seat falling over

Asking for someone:

RF safety 1st seat (not sure of model, but can clarify later if needed) is falling over in a 2009 Dodge Journey. Seatbelt install. Any explanations or possible solutions?

Well, I would guess that it isn't installed properly?
Are they installing with latch/UAS or seatbelt? Is the belt tight? Locked? Is there interference somewhere?

Falling over how?

Tipping over to the side or falling down on to its "back"? Either way it is not properly installed.

I'm assuming it's an install issue

I'm just wondering if it's because the belts aren't locking or the seat is incompatible with her vehicle or in a certain position (it's behind the driver).

I'm checking for further details ...

My first guess would be an unlocked seatbelt. Do all Dodges have lightweight locking latchplates? You'd have to find out how her belt locks and if she's indeed locking it. If she has locking latchplates that aren't holding, she'll need to flip the male end of the buckle and if that doesn't help, use a locking clip.

Of course that's all conjecture. Mostly subbing for more details .

If its behind the driver on a seatbelt install, that belt is a retractor lock so they haven't made sure to lock it if its happening there.

We have an 09 journey and have no issues getting any seats there, and we have had our friends safety 1st 3 in1 install rf-ing in that exact position with no issues. We generally use the latch for all our installs.

Thank you! I've asked why not install with latch and she says she isn't sure what it is or where to locate them I mentioned that maybe they're tucked in under the seat cover or clipped in somewhere and to consult her manual ... and of course to seek the advice of a tech

If she reclines the seat she should see them easily. They stick out quite a bit in our car anyway.But there are 5 latch hooks there so hopefully she finds them.
