removing headrest to improve booster fit?

I'm new to installing high back boosters, and need advice on getting them to fit well in various cars. It seems as though removing the headrest often produces a better fit against the vehicle seat, because the headrest pushes the top of the booster seat forward a bit. So should I remove the headrest and improve the fit, or leave the headrest in place and allow the booster to be pushed forward? Neither the vehicle manuals nor the booster manuals (a Turbo Booster and a Compass B510) say one way or the other which way is better.

Thanks! Visiting nieces and nephews will be safer as a result!

Neither the turbo or the compass require the head rests. The highback versions are made for cars that do not have head rests, so removing yours should be fine. Just remember, there are some cosco seats that do require headrests. But most high back boosters do not have this requirement. Your nieces and nephews will be perfectly safe with out the headrest behind their boosters.:)

Yeah, those seats are fine if you remove the vehicle headrest, and are safe to use in cars that don't even have headrests at all. It should make them fit a lot better.
(Cosco boosters, on the other hand, don't have the support structure to prevent whiplash injuries by themselves, and a high seatback must be used behind them... I just couldn't help mentioning that)

:)
