Pregnancy seat belt???

Active member
On my local Facebook I saw this ad for a 10.00 hook that seems to split the lap belt with a hook under the seat so it's off the pregnant belly, is this safe???? It's not for me, but I was just curious if it's even safety tested?

In general, a good rule is to not use aftermarket products. There may be cases where something like this may be recommended by a doctor, but I wouldn't use it otherwise. I don't know if this was tested. There are a few versions of this kind of product out there, and some may be better tested than others. Obviously, you don't want to introduce slack into the seat belt unless the device will reliably hold on to it in a crash. And most of the time, the belt will sit safely under a bump without help.
