We have baby #2 coming in the next few weeks and DD#1 has just turned 3 and is about 40 lbs and around 39-40" tall (long legs). She is currently riding RF in a Radian in our car and just recently FF in a SureRide in my mom's car (very occasionally).
Up until now my plan was to use the Radian for the baby and put the SureRide FF in our car for DD1 (taking out and moving to mom's car as needed). But I wonder if I should get the angle adjuster for the Radian to make it more upright and put it behind the passenger seat and put the SureRide in the centre? I can move the passenger up some but not a crazy amount (I'm 6' tall).
One thing I wonder is what that will mean when my mom is taking DD1 in her car, which may be more frequent after the baby comes. Even if I don't need to go anywhere with the baby during that time it seems like it will be a pain to adjust the SureRide from newborn to toddler (straps and the extra cushions) even though the actual install is easy. Though just writing it out it doesn't seem that bad, does it?
Am I overlooking anything? I'm pondering getting another "occasional use" seat if we do end up putting the SureRide in our car (thinking either another SureRide or the Titan65) but I'd rather wait till they go on sale. Just not sure that will happen before the baby comes so I want to have a plan.
If you've made it this far, thank you for reading!
DH's perspective is that we can just turn DD forward facing, and since she's 3 now I can see his point. But since the Radian still fits her then I figure why not, right?
