So DS cracked me up this morning and I wanted to share with someone who would get it and sadly the guys at work just don't understand.

DS just turned three and a lot of his friends are starting to ride in boosters. When we pulled up at school one of his friends was getting out of his car and DS could see he was in a booster.

The boys walked into school together and I heard DS tell his friend. "I ride like lighten mcqueen a racecar vroom vroom- I safe and go fast". "you're like mater - ask your mommy for a racecar seat too."

I just laughed - I'm glad he's paying attention.

We only JUST started using the race car driver thing because all his friends started riding in boosters and he started asking about it.

He linked it to lightning and mater all on his own. can't fault three year old logic though

LOL! Love his analogy! (DD is a huge Cars fan!)

I use the race car analogy too, but with adults.

The Mather analogy works sooo much better in describing the disadvantages of not having a harness seat though. I'm gonna have to remember that.

I LOVE it! Preschoolers are so cute!

if she heard it she didn't comment. and I've learnt the hard way that sometimes just leading by example is the most effective means of dealing with parents.

they have another child too so she was focused on the older sister.

i wonder how his friend's mother responded to his conversation with her about his need for a racecar seat.

I was just imagining this little guy getting picked up by his mom after school and him telling her he needed a racecar seat. Would be interesting.

:hitselfonhead:

the mom asked me where she can buy a lightening mcqueen seat cover this morning.

I tried to explain that Austin was talking about his harness because racecar drivers use harnesses because its proven to be safer. she just brushed me off and said the Dr told her was ok to be in a booster. I also mentioned and that seat covers aren't safe and she looked at me like I had three heads.
