Question Old SUV's vs new SUV's

Which is safer, an older big steel SUV (like those late 80's model Suburbans) without anchors or newer SUV's (like 2010+ Durango-esque style SUV's) with anchors? Personally, I will need three car seats in it. Two rear-facing and one forward-facing (at least until they all go forward).

You want the newest car with the most safety features you can afford. Tethers are a HUGE deal. Airbags are a HUGE deal. There's a big reason fewer people are dying on the roads. Advances in technology in cars and carseats. You don't want an older car.

These aren't SUVs, but these are old versus new. Always get new. The lower anchors aren't a big deal. The top tethers are very important.
