Apologies everyone for the issues and for your patience. Something I did yesterday must have messed something up. I wish this mobile style wasn't necessary, but as of April 21st, Google will slam search results for sites that don't have a mobile friendly appearance.
I could upgrade, but my concern is that vBulletin 4 may not be much better than this vBulletin 3 solution in terms of automatic selection of the mobile style. I am testing it at www.car-seat.co . Members from last year should be able to login with an older password there. You are all welcome to leave feedback on it. vBulletin 4 retains many forum features like iTrader and "Thanks", but still uses a similar mobile style selector like the current one. The latest vBulletin 5 uses a mobile responsive style that does not require switching, but it still has a lot of issues and would be much different overall, plus it would lose some third party features like iTrader and "Thanks".
I've put this off for years because I know people don't like change, but it really is down to the wire now. I am still seeking other options, including something that will help permanently override the mobile style which I hope to have implemented this month. If these fixes don't work, I will be upgrading to vBulletin 4 as soon as possible. Many styles will be lost in that process, at least temporarily.
I reverted all of yesterday's changes a few minutes ago, even though they shouldn't have affected this. I hope this will help.
I do note that if you are on the mobile style and click "Full Desktop Site", it will take you to the default destktop style with sidebar, regardless of any other preference set in your User CP. That is a direct link to the default style and will override other settings for that session. To force the change back to your preferred style, you could instead use one of the direct style links below.
Clicking that link ( http://www.car-seat.org/?styleid=65 ) AND having the no sidebar style set in your User CP should do it.
For anyone still having issues, try using one of the direct links below to reset your style preference. If you still have issues, please try all 3 steps in this full procedure:
1) clearing cache and cookies. https://kb.iu.edu/d/ahic or https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/32050?hl=en
2) Then make sure you have your preferred style selected at the bottom miscellaneous section in your User CP Edit Options: http://www.car-seat.org/profile.php?do=editoptions .
3) Then make sure to use the style selector at the bottom of the page to go to you preferred style, or use a link below. This should only be needed once, but you could also bookmark the link if you wish to make sure:

This fixed it for a few hours, but then just now it went back to mobile, and after I clicked out of mobile, sidebar.

If you followed all 3 steps and it still went back to mobile again, you will probably have to wait until I can have the developer put in the fix to manually override mobile selection for registered members. In the mean time try using the no sidebar link above and replace your current bookmark with it.
I swear I posted this yesterday, but clicking that link is what fixes it for a few hours.
Just an heads up.. Chrome on the laptop and I am still good from yesterdays link click.
