Question Newer maestro differences

I have one of the recalled maestro's with the fix installed. I just bought a new maestro for trying a three across. Turns out I don't need it, so I was going to return it. However I am thinking of keeping it because it appears to be "new and improved." It has those red lower belt guides for booster mode. I'm thinking they must have put those on the new ones for good reason, so now I'm uneasy about ever using the old one in booster mode. Also I feel a little uneasy using the harness on the recalled one, even with the fix installed. The only problem is I HATE the new buckle.

So I told you all that so I can ask you this:
can I take the buckle assembly from the old one and put it on the new one? Not the whole harness, just the buckle pieces. If so I'll keep it and retire the old one. :) if not... I don't know I haven't decided yet.

I don't think anyone here can give you that answer. You really need to call Evenflo on Monday and ask them about that.
