Gerber Recalls Machetes with Stitched Sheaths Due to Laceration Hazard. Sold at Sporting goods stores nationwide and online from February 2012 through February 2013 for about $43 for the machete and sheath set, and $349 for the Survival Kit.

IKEA Recalls LYDA Jumbo Coffee/Tea Cups Due to Burn Hazard. Sold exclusively at IKEA stores nationwide and on the firm’s website at www.ikea-usa.com from August 2012 through April 2013 for about $5.

Philips Recalls Metal Halide Lamps Due to Fire, Laceration Hazards. Sold at Professional electrical wholesale supply distributors for use by industrial and commercial property owners from November 2012 to April 2013 for about $20. The lamps have been installed in retail stores and recreational facilities.

DiveAlert Emergency Signaling Devices Recalled by Ideations Due to Drowning Hazard. Sold at Dive equipment stores nationwide from July 2009 through May 2013 for between $70 and $90.

Country Life Recalls Target-Mins™ Iron Supplement Bottles Due to Lack of Child-Resistant Packaging. Sold at New Seasons, Sprouts Farmers Market, Vitamin Cottage, Whole Foods Market and other natural food stores nationwide from January 2013 to May 2013 for about $10.

FINGER LAKES FARMSTEAD CHEESE COMPANY LLC of TRUMANSBURG, NY is recalling 12 wheels of GOUDA cheese manufactured on December 20, 2012. The results of U.S. Food and Drug Administration product sampling revealed the presence of GOUDA Cheese contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes Type 1. This production batch of GOUDA (may be called "SCHUYLER" OR "BIER MECK" GOUDA) was distributed in New York State, predominantly in the Albany region, and was distributed to retail stores and restaurants.

Townsend Farms, Inc. of Fairview, Oregon, has announced that it is voluntarily recalling certain lots of its frozen Organic Antioxidant Blend, out of an abundance of caution, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Hepatitis A virus. The product was sold at Costco warehouse stores under the product name Townsend Farms Organic Antioxidant Blend, 3 lb. bag and UPC 0 78414 404448. The product was also sold at Harris Teeter stores from April 19 until May 7, 2013, under the product name Harris Teeter Organic Antioxidant Berry Blend, 10 oz. bag UPC 0 72036 70463 4.

Prime Food USA, 50st & 1st Ave Building # 57, Brooklyn NY 11232, is recalling Latis Brand Seafood Products due to confirmed and suspected contamination with listeria monocytogenes. The product was sold nationwide.

General Mills announced today a voluntary Class I recall of a small quantity of single-serve reduced-sugar Cinnamon Toast Crunch bowlpak sold in foodservice establishments. This action is being taken as a precaution because the company was notified by an ingredient supplier that it had recalled an ingredient due to the possible presence of salmonella.

Alderman Farms Sales Corporation, Boynton Beach, Florida is recalling one pint containers of Certified Organic Cherry Tomatoes because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. An Alderman Farms’ wholesale customer in Florida purchased 10 cartons containing 12 one-pint containers of the affected cherry tomatoes on 5/22/13. There were no other cherry tomatoes sold from this lot.

Sagent Pharmaceuticals Initiates a Nationwide Voluntary Recall of Three Lots of Vecuronium Bromide for Injection, 10mg Manufactured by Mustafa Nevzat (MN Pharmaceuticals) Due to Elevated Impurity Levels. The lot numbers being recalled are: 11I30481A, 11I30721A and 11I32581A, which were distributed to hospitals, wholesalers and distributors nationwide from January 2012 through May 2012.

I'm very upset about this. Taking recalled machetes out of the hands of babies is tantamount to taking away their constitutional rights. Just think of all the toddlers who will no longer be able to clear a path in the jungle:-( First, recalled machetes. What's next, children's meat cleavers? I hope the NMA gets involved soon!
