New peg infant seat in an older base?

Someone I know wants to buy a peg infant seat and part of the reasoning is they're being given a used (from very trusted source) base. The child who owned the base is about 18 months, so I'm wondering if you are allowed to use the newer seats with the older base. I could find out more like DOM of used base, but thought I'd start with the question in case it's definitely allowed or not. Thx.

Not sure, but it wouldn't surprise me if you can given that the rebound added wasn't a base change.

They switched something though, because the seat now has a 7 year expiry rather than a 5 year. The seat could very well be compliant, Peg switched around Dec 2011.

Short answer? I really don't know, best to call Peg and ask, but have the DOM of the seat/base handy so they can answer fully.

Compliancy (is that a word? Lol) happened the same time as the Canadian Pegs switched to the 30/30, right? So if it's a 30/30 base, it's prob fine. Def call Peg, though.

I think it was. Or maybe not. I don't know (obviously...lol)

It was January 2011 that they became 7 but they knew about the compliancy thing then, so maybe? I don't know either.

When did they start requiring the handle in the rebound position? That was the only change required for compliance, yes?

That I don't know. Most I see are new. I've only gotten one that didn't require rebound handle.
