Naperville, IL crash (toddler injured)

I'm trying to find out seat usage for this crash that happened a few hours ago. It involved a school bus (empty) and a mini-van. The toddler was critically injured but the 4-year-old doesn't seem too hurt.
(First reports said toddler was ejected, then that changed).
This is very close to where we live. Sad turn of events for this family.

I am 15 minutes from where the crash happened and have been searching for more info as well. I feel awful for the family.

I saw this on the WGN news site. Not much more information but apparently mom and the older child are ok, 23 month old is in serious to critical condition. There is a video of the accident site.

I hope they were using a seat properly (not that it would change things at this point) and that it only happened because the toddler unbuckled himself just before or during the moment just before the impact.

I just don't want that poor mother to end up having to wonder what if.
