Missing EPS Foam on a ComfortSport

I took the cover off of our ComfortSport the other day and there is a big chunk of foam missing from the side (where the kid's head would rest if they were sleeping).

Can you use this seat without the foam? Can it be replaced? The rest of it looked like it was pretty firmly stuck on there so I don't know how it came off!

I was thinking about getting rid of the seat anyway, but I'm not sure how long it has been like this so was wondering how much of a safety concern this is.

*I* would not use it without the foam unless you have no other choice. But, I would guess that Graco has it available as a replacement part. Just call customer service although it might be rather expensive since you are planning on replacing the seat anyway.
