Hello,
I sincerely apologize to members and visitors who have visited recently and had their browser unintentionally redirected to a malicious third party website.
This has apparently been a widespread problem on the internet for many people over the last week or two. This particular issue is not with an infected computer, browser or website server. Unlike previous reports, this new problem is apparently the scourge of the advertising industry right now, which is that third party ad networks are serving malicious advertisements to legitimate publishers like Car-Seat.Org.
Apparently, it is very difficult even for the largest and most reputable ad networks like Google Adwords and sovrn to identify and remove these malicious redirect ads from their network. Because of this, I am doing my best to respond to reports to block specific ads and specific ad networks as quickly as I can.
I believe the recent attack has been stopped, but these malicious advertisers will no doubt find a way to start again with new accounts and new websites. Unfortunately, like many websites, the costs to operate Car-Seat.Org are paid by ad networks, so eliminating them completely is not an option at this time. I do rely upon members and visitors to post if they have any issues of this type. While many issues are indeed viruses or malware on computers, routers or browsers, this particular problem is definitely ad network based and I can stop it with enough information.
Thank you for reporting any problems you may have, both here and at other websites where you may observe malicious redirects!
