LATCH weight limit?

Does anybody know more about this? I've heard there is a weight limit for most, if not all, LATCH in vehicles, but I haven't seen this in my vehicle manual.

Does anybody know if there is a standard weight limit, or specifically the limit for an 08 town and country?

Thanks!

For the LATCH Manual, published every 2 years, the authors consult with all automakers to find out their weight limits on LATCH (both lower anchors and tethers, sometimes they are the same, sometimes not.) You can also call the automaker to find out (call corporate, not a dealer, dealers often don't know.)

However if a parent's manual does not address the issue, they can always consult with the car seat manual for guidance. Your car seat manual will specify either a 40 or 48 lb. limit (what seat(s) do you have?) and the LOWER limit (between the car seat and the car) should be followed. Many car seat manuals say that if the vehicle manufacturer does not specify, you can assume a 40 lb. limit. That is because no manufacturer has a limit below 40 lbs., so it's a safe one to assume.

And how often do you see carseats in Porsches anyway? Heck, I don't think I've seen more than 1-2 Porsches total lifetime, carseat or not.

True. I saw one once, it was a second car and I only showed them how to put the baseless infant seat in in case of emergency.

Porsche Cayenne, five seater SUV.

We also had Piper's Britax Wizard in Nathan's 911 (2000, pre-LATCH).

Not that I've ever checked a Cayenne...

There's also the new Panamera that's just come out, four door sedan.

If they say 39 I think 39. But yeah, they are weird that way. hehe
